Independent orientation tools help businesses navigate the complex landscape of sustainability standards by providing transparent and evidence-based information.
The Food Security Standard (FSS) has recently been included in two important two guidance platforms that support companies in identifying suitable sustainability standards:
- The Standards Compass of the Helpdesk on Business & Human Rights, which enables companies—particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)—to compare voluntary sustainability standards based on their contribution to the different stages of the human rights due diligence process.
- The Gütezeichen-Finder of the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe (FNR), which provides procurement professionals and consumers with reliable information on sustainability labels and certifications relevant to bio-based products and renewable resources.
The inclusion of the Food Security Standard in both the Standards Compass and the FNR Gütezeichen-Finder represents an important step towards making food security considerations more accessible to companies. By providing independent information and transparent comparisons, these platforms enable businesses to make more informed decisions and strengthen responsible, human rights-based supply chain management.
