Advancing Human Rights Due Diligence at the Sustainability osapiens Summit 2026
As regulatory frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the EU Forced Labour Regulation (FLR) continue to reshape corporate responsibility, companies are strengthening their human rights due diligence processes across global supply chains. In agricultural production, integrating food security into these efforts offers an opportunity to address one of the underlying drivers of human rights risks.
On 9 and 10 June 2026, the Food Security Standard (FSS) will bring this perspective to the Sustainability osapiens Summit (SoS.26) in Mannheim. Lisa Heinemann, Project Manager for the FSS at Welthungerhilfe (WHH), and Rafael Schneider, Deputy Head of WHH’s Policy Department, will represent the FSS at Booth 20 (Level 1). Together, they will engage with companies and sustainability professionals on why food security deserves a place in effective human rights due diligence.
At the booth, visitors can discuss the value of social audits, and the competitive advantage of addressing food security at production level. The conversation will also explore how the FSS can support companies in addressing the requirements of regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Interactive Farm, an online tool showcasing practical examples from an FSS-certified farm. It demonstrates how food security measures can be successfully integrated into agricultural production and contribute to improved outcomes for farm workers and surrounding communities.
