Details
A substantial number of people participating in food production—including agricultural workers and smallholder farmers—face poverty and food insecurity[1][2]. The expansion and development of cultivated land may present risks for those participating in food production, such as forced displacement, reduced or denied access to land and natural resources, water scarcity and environmental and health consequences [3][4][5]. These risks could both directly and indirectly deprive even more farmers and local communities of accessing adequate food.
